Global white goods company, Miele, required their distribution warehouse and office space in Victoria to be upgraded to suit their growing needs in Australia. James Bleakman, from This Office Design, along with construction firm, Project One, were tasked to reimagine this space to create a premium workspace referencing the history of the 120 year-old firm.
Miele’s office is located on former farmland, 1 hour south of Melbourne’s CBD. This Office Design used this as inspiration for the fit-out, to link back to the roots and pay homage to the site. Therefore, materials were selected that reference nature, yet are contemporary and premium in form. The design team created open and semi-enclosed meeting rooms and collaboration spaces to keep a sense of flow throughout the office.
"The Woven Image range of acoustic tile solutions have an excellent blend of design focus and acoustic quality that makes them great in a variety of instances. I use them regularly throughout my commercial office projects to create an impact of depth and warmth." (James, This Office Design)
Woven Image’s Balance Tile were specified due to their high acoustic properties in a space that is semi open, yet still needs to conceal private conversation. The Balance Tiles were cut on site to fit around TV screens and other electronics, integrating them into the tiled wall.
This project recently won a silver award in the Corporate Interior Design category at the DrivenXDesign Awards.
